How do you identify I/O bottlenecks? We put together a short video that outlines a few of the primary symptoms. Of course, it is not an exact science, and often involves a combination of intuition and measurement, but this list will get you off to a good start.

The video is short, concise and right to the point. Gary Orenstein does a wonderful job describing the real world I/O contention problems in today’s storage market. All of top 10 I/O bottlenecks are very true and I do see them at my clients’ data center.

Gier6 approach to address these issues does carry a huge value proposition to solve application servers and storage performance problems especially in HPC environment.
